The “Octave” is related to the pitch of the chime: lower numbers are lower pitches and thus bigger chimes, while higher numbers are higher pitches and thus smaller chimes.
Note: Sponsoring a chime helps us defray cost of chimes we own or raise funds to purchase chimes we don’t own yet. It is not the direct purchase of a physical chime.
